“Death, the Prosperity Gospel and Me – Wow! Good reading there.

“The Most Used but Least Understood Phrase in the Church” – more good reading stuff.

At the risk of being judgemental about another person – I know someone who since very early on in life decided she was going to marry “well”. So, she did that. She married well to someone who could always provide her what she wanted. That does not mean she is blessed by wealth. To me she was not blessed at all but very selfishly elbowed her way to where she wanted to be in life as evidenced by her behavior then and now as well.

I don’t really think good health or wealth or getting what you want in any category in life has anything to do with being blessed. I do believe there is a reason for all things – though we may not always understand it at the time or even ever.

“Death, the Prosperity Gospel and Me” – it seems as she is judged by others as having done something bad or wrong to deserve her cancer may compare her to Job. The story of Job teaches me there is always a reason whether or not we know what that reason is.
