First, I’d encourage you to read “Ministering to the Sexually Broken: An Interview with John Freeman.” I know it isn’t talked about much in our circles, but my guess is that sexual brokenness is rampant. Here’s a scary quote:

The average age of exposure to pornography today is seven for boys and nine for girls. Twenty years ago, ten-year-olds didn’t have to decide whether they may be homosexual. Today, the culture often forces this question upon them. Many ten- to twelve-year-olds, wrestling with sexuality, now use the Internet to investigate this.

Since we are on happy topics today, how about the issue of cutting? Yeah, who thinks about that? “Cutting to the Heart of Self-Injury” probably deals with an issue that is far more prevalent than we’d imagine.

When should people get married these days? I’m very much an advocate of early marriage. In my view, those who put it off end up fornicating. Like Paul said, it is better to marry than to burn. Proverbs speaks of the wife of one’s youth. Gene Fant at First things interacts with an article by Charles Murray at the Wall Street Journal, where Murray outlines his five rules for living a happy life. Murray’s first recommendation is: “consider marrying young.”

No longer practical to have young boys in the choir … the surgical solution was surprisingly unpopular …
