  1. phfs9 Says:

    In my personal opinion:

God gave us all “free will” – to commit sin or to not commit sin. I always say He gives us a ton of rope in our earthly lives. We can use it to pull ourselves up or we can use it to hang ourselves.

There has always been terrible evil in our world as far back and further than the Roman empire. It has always been and will always be – because God does not drill a hole and pour it in to each of us – He allows us to choose Him. That is ultimately what He wants – for us to “choose” Him.

I am confident He deals with evil and it is not our place to do so. He does things in His own time and in His own way.

What more can I ask from my God than to “allow” me to choose Him! He could just as easily washed His hands of all of us long, long ago. Instead, He loved me so much He sent Jesus. How much more undeservedly gifted can I possibly be?!

  2. Mark Says:

We have the free will of a dead person, Eph 2:1. No one seeks God, Ro 3:11. We don’t choose God, he chooses us, Jn 15:16. Every inclination of the thoughts of our hearts is only evil all the time (Ge 5:6 NIV). Indeed, as you wrote, “How much more undeservedly gifted can I possibly be?”
