A New Weapon In The Porn War

September 6, 2013

I’ve said before that I don’t think it is fair of parents not to guard the internet gate. Children will either intentionally or unintentionally eventually end up where they shouldn’t be. I prefer internet accountability software for adults. Problem is, it is expensive. Usually there is a stiff monthly charge. The only exception is X3 Watch free, and lately it hasn’t been working for me. Open DNS seems like a helpful alternative. But it isn’t always easy to setup and it doesn’t work with all routers. It works with my ATT router at home but not the ATT router at the church. K9 is a powerful free filter but every device individually has to be setup. Also, on iOS devices you have to use the K9 browser. The browser pales in comparison to the functionality of Safari.

Now there is a new weapon in the anti-porn arsenal. It is called Pandora’s Hope. It seems easy to setup, however, it does have a yearly fee of $20. Of course, 20 bucks today isn’t what it used to be. Here is a review of the device.  If you have a better option, I’d love to know about it.

Thought that picture was a really weird looking toaster for a moment there. Moving on…

Yeah, it looks like it has zipper pulls.
