Kindle Sale

July 21, 2011

Here’s my take on the Kindle sale at Amazon. I didn’t find much at the $0.99, $1.99 or $3.99 price levels. There was a ton, however, at the $2.99 level. What follows are my picks. I’ve divided them into “Definitely Purchase,” Probably Purchase,” and “Maybe” categories. Your mileage will vary. I’d encourage Kindle users to check the offerings out themselves. Be sure to leave a comment if I’ve missed a gem. Remember the sale ends on the 27th.

Definitely Purchase

One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are – Ann Voskamp

The Pursuit of Holiness – Jerry Bridges. If you don’t already own it.

How To Read the Bible for All Its Worth – Gordon Fee, Douglas Stuart. I’ve heard very good things about this book.

The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name – Sally Lloyd – Jones, Jago (Illustrator). Even though this is a kid’s book, I think it will be excellent.

The Discipline of Spiritual Discernment – Tim Challies. This should be good.

Probably Purchase

The Christian Atheist: When You Believe in God But Live as if He Doesn’t Exist – Craig Groeschel

NIV Archaeological Study Bible: An Illustrated Walk Through Biblical History and Culture – Tempting but I don’t think the Kindle format will work that well.

Coffee Shop Conversations: Making the Most of Spiritual Small Talk – Dale and Jonalyn Fincher

The Evangelicals – Christopher Catherwood

WEIRD: Because Normal Isn’t Working – Craig Groeschel. I don’t know the author but the book has very high ratings.
